Psalm 12: 1-8

Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, who have said with our tongue we will prevail; Our lips are our own; Who is lord over us? For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise says the Lord; I will set him in the safety for which he yearns. The words of the Lord are pure words. :ole so;ver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever. The wicked prowl on every side when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

David is crying out to the Lord because he sees that mankind being godly has become very rare. He is trying to get God's attention by asking for help. The godly were having no influence in the community. Gossip and Rumors were hurting their witness. These ungodly actions are not good for others to see as an example of God. One promise that stands out here is that God's words are pure and true. They can be believed and counted on. We can trust in Him. The word prowl is a negative word that connotates evil. We must fight against it.

This passage speaks to me about my behavior. I turned away from the Lord not in anger, but in disappointment when Randy died. I felt abandoned in some way. I have forgotten all of God's promises to me. I rededicate myself to Him.
