Psalm 20: 1-3

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah

This psalm starts out like a prayer that could have been used as a congregational recitation. It was written by David and may have been used when sacrificing before going to war. David is asking God for help and strength, as well as, asking God to accept the sacrifices made to God. The reference to Jacob is a reminder that God delivered Jacob in times of distress.

These verses are especially poignant in my life at this time. I just feel things spiraling out of control and I hate that. I am asking for help during my troubled times and for the strength to endure it. Lord, please help me get through this trial.
