It is Well with My Soul



When you feel your life is falling apart, God is still there. He sees your pain. He knows your hurts. He can comfort your soul. Yes, life can be hard—but God is bigger than your problems, and He will take your sorrows and give you peace that you can’t even comprehend.

Proverbs 31 -- The Perfect Woman?

This past weekend my sermon in Proverbs focused on what Solomon has to say about  marriage . In talking to husbands and wives about marriage, I found myself spending some time in  Proverbs 31 . Psalm 23: 1-4

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. This is psalm of David. David is reaffirming God in his life. God/Jesus is the shepherd that eventually gave His life for the sheep. Jesus went that further step for His people. God allows us a time to rest and be still with Him. The restoring of our energy and our faith is what keeps the flock going. This is a human need but God saw to it that our needs were met. David was always in fear of his life. People also walk in that 'valley of the shadow of death'. It is always there--the unknown.
